Nature Deficit Disorder

It’s a real problem. The term was first coined by Richard Louv in his book “Last Child in the Woods: Saving out Children from Nature- Deficit Disorder”. Since its publication in 2008, the phrase has spread and is used as a call for help from parents and nature enthusiasts, alike. Santa Cruz Country is an amazing place to explore for children of all ages and no one should be trapped inside on a sunny Santa Cruz spring day. I encourage any and all to read this text but more importantly, to get out there are bring young friends with you!
