1% For the Planet

Adventure Out is a member of 1% For the Planet, an international program with member companies that contribute 1% of their annual revenue to improving the environment. Founded by Yvon Chouinard (the creator of Patagonia) in 2001, the program has enlisted over 1,200 active member companies. 1% For the Planet takes the money contributed by its members and distributes it among grassroots environmental non-profit organizations all over the world. Since its inception, 1% For the Planet has acquired and awarded over $40 million to these non-profits. Contributing members of the 1% program are all companies that are conscious of the importance of conserving the environment and donating their hard earned cash to organizations that are helping build sustainable communities worldwide.
